What if India Was Undivided................

Well if that dream would be true India would have been one of the strongest nations, Undivided. The Kashmir issue would never have been started and the valley would have the greatest boost of tourism. 

As per the Green patch in the map then the Indian sub continent would have a much larger area with 4230928 sq.kilometers. (India- 3,287,263 sq. km, Pakistan - 796,095 sq. km and Bangladesh- 147,570 sq. km) and the combined area of the India Sub continent would have been almost equal to the area of Australia 

India would have been the most populous country in the world by now with a combined population of approximately 1.7 Billion people. 

The Cox's Bazar Beach in Bangladesh which is one of the longest natural sand beach stretching across 150 miles approximately would then have been a part of unified India and would have probably been a major tourist attraction like Goa or Puri. 

The natural resources combined in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh would have been a huge and then and this would have boosted the development of the Indian economy to a much greater extent. 

As the current population of Muslims in the subcontinent is 510 million, with roughly 180 million each in Pakistan and India, and another 150 million in Bangladesh. India would have been the largest Muslim nation.

India would have then been the strongest military with approximately 2205950 Active military personnel.  

• Pakistani Hindus would have had much better life than the one they are currently having.
• India would have had much better access to the world ( Particularly Europe and some parts of Asia) and would have had very huge deals and Petrol prices would have been very much lesser.
• Indian film industry might have been much bigger than the current one.
• India would have had the worlds best Cricket team with most of worlds top cricketing legends like Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Hanif Mohammad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, 
  Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, etc.,
• Our software companies would have had worlds best hackers.
• Unpartitioned India would have been the world’s poorest country with over 600 million hungry people.
• Muslims would not have been as powerful in a United India as they are today in Pakistan or Bangladesh where Muslims are more than 90% of the population in both countries.With 30% Muslim population United India would have seen worst communal riots than the ones India saw in its history. Religious Politics would have prevailed among all parts of the nation encouraging communal violence and India would have been among Top 10 Most Dangerous Countries In The World. All energy would be sucked into keeping the country together. Undivided India would have separate electorates. A democracy with separate electorates is no democracy at all. If India was unpartitioned world would have lost many interesting cricket matches.

Imagine this line up in the 2003 Cricket World Cup (2003 because thats when both India and Pakistan had the best teams IMHO) :)

If India and Pakistan was not divided:

1. Both, India and pakistan would have escaped the wrenching experience of Partition with its attendant suffering and continued bitterness.

2. The suffering caused by the secession of Bangladesh could have been avoided.

3. The dispute over Kashmir would not have occurred, with all the attendant terrorism that has distorted life in India.

4. A three-tiered India would have had at least the same industrialisation that has occurred and the areas that are now Pakistan and Bangladesh would have profited from it. It would have been a vast "free trade zone" with no equal in the world.

5. It would have been a democratic republic, without military dictators. There would seem to be no reason why Muslim voters could not have exercised their franchise, just as they do in present-day India.

6. Unpartitioned India would be the word’s largest country (1.4 billion people), the world’s largest Muslim country (500 million) and the world’s poorest country (over 600 million hungry).

7. In undivided India, religion would have dominated political debate, as it did in the 30s and 40s, and consensus on reform would be hard to build internally. All energy would be sucked into keeping the country together.

8. Hindus would never have been able to rule Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan or the Frontier.

9. Undivided India need not have been the world’s poorest country. The resources, attention and energy that have gone into the continued hostility since Partition could have been channeled into development.

10. The foreign policy of India would not have been dominated by relations with Pakistan and Bangladesh with all the attendant distortions.

11. Cricket, a united team of the mid-eighties, Sunil Gavaskar, Miandad, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, Zaheer, Vengsarkar and Wasim Akram, with Tendulkar and Waqar waiting. The landscape of the game - would have been entirely different.

12. Greater intensity and frequency of Hindu-Muslim riots. Self explanatory.

13. Arms Industry would have lost fortune.

14. The Indian Army (Indian+Pakistan+Banglade

sh) army combined would have theworld’s largest army in terms of military personnel overtaking China. Currently, India is second to China
