When Friendship Becomes a relationship (pros and cons)....

Pros for being in a relationship with a close friend:

1. You are already extremely comfortable together so it makes things a lot easier

2. You already know his/her friends because there yours too so they have to like you

3. You also know his/her family because you’ve met them a million times

4. You are probably interested in the same sort of things

5. It’s easy, you already know him/her so there’s none of the initial hard work/stress

Cons for being in a relationship with a close friend (or ending one):

1. Your friends might feel a bit stange about you being a couple

2. If you break up then they will definitely feel strange

3. If there’s a lot of he saids and she saids, they will get back to whoever they’re about

4. No matter how easy it is to say “If we ever broke up we can still be friends” It’s not that simple

5. You could ultimitely lose some friendships (as did I)

6. Just because you are not together anymore doesn’t mean you are not going to see them around and at friends birthdays etc.

7. You’ll still know about everything that they are up to so there’s no such thing as out of sight out of mind in this situation

Well I could keep going but I think we’re getting the drift. Unless you are one hundred percent sure that they are the one for you then I would suggest probably staying away from friends. If it ends, it rarely ends nicely. I know I sure won’t be with a friend of mine again, I learnt that the hard way but it’s a lesson that I’m glad I experienced because I did learn from it. Good luck to you all on finding your love, whether it be your best friend or someone completely new.
